PVC COMPOUND ST 1-FRLS
about the product
ST‑1 FRLS is a flame-retardant, low-smoke PVC compound tailored mainly for wire & cable jacketing, especially in environments where reduced smoke/hazardous gas is critical. It’s produced as granules from virgin PVC resin, plasticizers, and additives like stabilizers and fillers
1.Flame resistance: Meets IEC 60502‑1/TM‑1, BS 7655 standards for fire safety
2.Low smoke & halogen emissions: Designed to emit minimal smoke and toxic gases in case of fire .
3. Mechanical robustness: High tensile strength (~>12.5 N/mm²) and elongation >150% even after aging
4. Thermal stability: Stable performance up to ~70 °C continuous use; decomposition time ~80+ minutes at 200 °C .
5.Other resistances: Durable against UV, oil, acids, alkalis, rodents, and termites. Non-toxic, low odor
1.Wire & cable sheathing, especially for power, control, and data cables (domestic wiring, medium-voltage, instrumentation, fire-alarm systems)
2Suited for power transmission (up to ~11 kV), household wiring, automotive cables, spiral tubes, gaskets, and connector parts
3. Ideal for fire-survival cables and areas requiring low-smoke emission.
1. Supplied in granule/pellet form (1–4 mm diam.), designed for extrusion/injection molding
2. Packaging formats: 25 kg bags or bulk jumbo bags (650–800 kg) .
3. Shelf life ~6 months (optimal within first 3 months for best performance)
1. Typical classification: ST‑1 (sheathing), often corresponds to TM‑1/Type 5 per BS 7655/IEC standards
2. Other grades include ST‑2 and ST‑3; ST‑1 is general-purpose with moderate flexibility.
3. Compliance often includes RoHS, REACH, UL, BIS, VDE certifications .
1. Beyond general ST‑1 FRLS, there are variants like:
I. ST‑1 70 °C, ST‑1 90 °C and 105 °C heat-resistant, including cross‑linked versions
2. Additions: anti-termitic/rodent, oil, UV resistances, halogen-free, low-temperature (-40 °C) .
3. Higher-performance like ST‑2, ST‑3, TM‑2/3 types for higher temp or bespoke uses .
4. Cross-linked FRLS for enhanced heat/flammability performance
